Health Professions Building, CMU Mount Pleasant MI:
The administers at the Central Michigan University sought a technology advanced environment in their Professions Building that would promote learning, patient care, collaboration and discovery between their various programs. AVI Systems was the design engineer and design build integrator for this high tech project, which included six classrooms with video cubes for collaborative learning, central e-control systems, high tech projectors and document cameras. The Telepresence Rooms feature a video wall, 3 controllable cameras and push-to-talk microphones. A master control room receives all the signals from the cameras and can send a signal to a video server or live stream, which can record and archive any teaching area. The new technology advanced system succeeds in uniting the CMU’s health care program to one that promotes learning and collaborative environment.
PIPAC Centre on the Lake: Greg and LeaAnn Saul, owners of PIPAC Insurance Planners and Consultants wanted to build a major event center with an upscale meeting place for business and social events on their new corporate headquarters on the shores of Prairie Lakes in Cedar Falls. AVI Systems delivered a world-class, multi-function event center which included the best technology currently available including a digital dry erase electronic projection system, audio conference, surround sound system and full audio visual source compatibility. The conference also contains a 15 seat multi-function conference room that is flexible to meet any presentation need. The 24,000 square foot facility now boasts one of the best high tech spaces for business meetings in the area.
Woodwinds Orthopedic Learning Center
AVI Systems’ project at Woodwinds Learning Center is a good representation of audio video technology where you would least expect it. Woodwinds Learning Center is among a growing list of health care providers who wish to utilize the latest technology to allow fellow surgeons and doctors, medical students and families to observe surgical procedures in real time for learning and informational purposes. AVI Systems worked with Woodwinds to design, engineer and fabricate a state-of-the art telemedicine system for the new Orthopoedic Learning Center and the Woodwinds facility.
The new system features a moving trolley ceiling mounted platform, which enables surgeons to communicate via images and voice to the lab and auditorium at Woodwinds. The new system allows observers to view and listen and ask questions about the procedure, enhancing the learning and educational experience at the facility.
