Video Conferencing IP Engineer

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Under direction of the Collaborative Architect, the Videoconference IP Engineer is responsible for the testing and implementation of the Sandia Videoconference Department IP Migration Plan. This is a one year assignment based in Livermore, California with some travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico and some to vendor locations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Video Conferencing Engineer will be responsible for the following milestones:

  • Setup IP videoconference network performance tools (Radvision Evident) and monitor those tools – Q2

  • Vendor solution validation: Establish test bed in CA lab to validate vendor claims and develop implementation strategy for migration plan. – Q2

  • With others: Third-party desktop VTC vendor tests/pilot – Q2

    • Test Polycom CMAD and Cisco MOVI for customer usability and acceptance.

  • Implement infrastructure to support desktop to room connectivity – Q3

  • Move Core Public Rooms to SRN – by the end of Q4

  • Participation in the development of a universal dialing plan and plan to move conference rooms from ISDN/SON to the SRN network. – by the end of Q4
