PIPAC Centre on the Lake
Cedar Falls, IA
Challenge
PIPAC Insurance Planners and Consultants were planning to build their new corporate headquarters on the shores of Prairie Lakes in Cedar Falls. Though the surroundings were beautiful, nothing in a 30-mile radius had up-scale, rentable meeting space that would attract conferences and special functions to the area to boost their economy. As their planning continued, Greg and LeaAnn Saul, the owners of PIPAC, had a vision to build a major event center for business meetings and social events.
Solution
AVI Systems worked with the Sauls, AHTS Architects, and Fred Rose Companies to create a world-class, multi-functional event center offering the most advanced technology available.
Project Details
Every room incorporates the latest presentation technology available. The executive boardroom offers a digital dry-erase electronic projection system, audio conferencing, state-of-the-art surround sound and a full complement of audio visual source equipment, including DVD, VCR, CD and cassette. The boardroom has the additional ability to be electronically linked to any other room within the complex.
The Saul Grand Ballroom boasts 3 large projection systems. PowerPoint presentations, satellite feeds, video conferences, cable – even the Super Bowl – can be projected in high definition with stereo or surround sound.
All of the latest technology is fingertip controlled. Additional equipment such as DVD/CD players and VCRs, a satellite receiver and an audio mixer are housed in an attached equipment room. Other features include 3 motorized projector screens, projector lifts, lighting control, and a sound system that can operate as a whole or independently in each of the 5 smaller spaces.
The PIPAC Conference Room contains a multi-functional, 15-person conference table that can be moved for individual seating or training. The audio visual system accommodates flexible presentations with a high quality video projector, a motorized projection screen and a state-of-the-art sound system.
JT's Idea Room offers a small meeting space with a simple audio system and a CD player.
Bena's restaurant offers high definition viewing from plasma screens, Direct TV and a myriad of audio selections. A distributed audio system was even incorporated into the outdoor landscape.
Results
Today, this truly amazing event center on the south end of Prairie Lakes in offers 24,000 square feet of fully-equipped, high-tech space for business meetings and social events. The entire complex is tied together with a control system capable of simply operating any room's audio visual system and lights from any computer on the network. Additionally, each office and major public space has the ability to select its own background music from 8 different sources.
