AVI Systems and its manufacturer partners raised over $20,000 for NSCA’s IGNITE Initiative this past Monday, Aug. 22 at Bent Creek Golf Course in Eden Prairie, Minn.

“What great timing for an event like this,” explained Loren Sposito of AVI Systems. “One thing I never hear in our industry is that ‘we just have too many people here with not enough to do!’

Eighteen manufacturer partners, including Milestone AV, Haivision, Kramer Electronics, Revolabs, Shure Inc., Liberty AV, LifeSize, NanoLumens, NEC Display Solutions, Newline Interactive, ScanSource, Crestron, QSC, ClearOne, Bose, Almo, Bormann Marketing, Sharp and Polycom participated in the charity event.

“I was so impressed with the entire event and how well organized it was,” said Chuck Wilson, NSCA Education Foundation Executive Director. “It turned out to be a huge success. AVI Systems truly cares about the future of our industry as demonstrated in the way their staff (team) all pitched in to support this great cause. I’m very grateful for the time and effort of each and every AVI Systems employee and for the generosity of their vendor partners.”

In addition to the 18-hole scramble, golfers participated in a range of activities from a silent auction to raffles and closest-to-the-pin to ladder ball toss. All proceeds from the event will benefit the NSCA Foundation’s IGNITE Initiative.

NSCA’s IGNITE works to generate interest in AV technology by connecting local high school and college students, as well as those new to the industry, with manufacturers, dealers and integrators – and to spark imagination and encourage students to consider new career paths in our industry. The IGNITE foundation was built specifically to attract, retain and grow qualified new talent in the AV industry— to cultivate the next generation of technicians, managers, sales leaders and innovators.
