AVI Systems Establishes Endowment Fund with True Friends

Press November 8, 2018

AVI Systems has partnered with True Friends to establish an endowment fund that will provide meaningful financial support for years to come. The donation is meant to support True Friends' efforts and programs long term.

Each year, True Friends can use 4 to 5 percent of the endowment fund to pay for programs, provide financial assistance to families in need, and more. There have not been restrictions on its use.

"It's the gift that keeps on giving," said John LeBlanc, President and CEO of True Friends. "Long-term financial strength is critically important because funding changes rapidly."  LeBlanc explained that the endowment fund will provide the stability and consistency that organizations like True Friends need to continue their work year after year.

"You can be a more consistent provider for people with disabilities," he said.  Even in times of a poor economy or low donations, a long-term fund can help keep programs running and give people who need financial assistance the chance to have a life-changing experience at camp, respite or another program that True Friends offers. To help increase the fund, AVI Systems encourages its employees to donate independently.

“AVI is a blessed company, and we believe in True Friends' mission of creating amazing experiences for thousands of children and adults who benefit from the help of others,” said Jeff Stoebner, President and CEO of AVI Systems. “Their camps, including the one right here in our hometown of Eden Prairie, really make a difference. We believe giving is best when nothing is expected in return.”

True Friends is a non-profit organization that works to enhance the lives of people with disabilities through various programs, including camp, travel, respite and more. The organization works with over 25,000 people across Minnesota annually. True Friends has four locations in Minnesota, with Camp Eden Wood on Birch Island Lake being the closest to AVI Systems’ headquarters in Eden Prairie.
