Citrix reports that 61 percent of employees sometimes work away from the office. And industry experts expect that percentage to grow. Investing in mobility is a must, but where do you start when everyone wants different technologies, accessed through a variety of devices?
First, don’t worry about which solutions you need. Start with deciding which capabilities you need. What kinds of work and collaboration do you do in office, and then how can employees perform the same work when they’re out of the office?
Do you video conference? Do you whiteboard? If so, are there multiple collaborators? Also, consider the needs of various departments—not only in regard to in-office systems, but with apps and cloud programs for mobility too.
For hardware solutions that support mobile work, you will want to consider room-based video systems, cloud-based video/web conferencing, cloud-based content sharing, and virtual meeting rooms. While upgrading solutions may help improve work, it is the companies that fully embrace the mobile mindset that see better employee experience, improved business productivity and processes, and more.
