Continuing talks around the benefits of telehealth, Senior Account Manager Mike Zimmer explains how a focused telehealth program can impact physicians and health-care providers in the second part of this series.

See part one here.

What can telehealth do for providers?

A focused telehealth program will allow health providers to reach out to their patients more frequently, provide better results, and increase their efficiency and profitability.

How does telehealth benefit physicians?

You might have a physician or health provider that has to travel to multiple offices to see multiple patients. They can eliminate all the travel that they might have to go through for just routine visits.

It’s going to give them instant access, really put them in touch with their patients right away.

In that respect, again, they’re saving time and certainly the clinic’s billable rate goes up because they’re able to see more patients in less time.

How else does telehealth help physicians?

Telemedicine also brings physicians together. And what I mean by that is we’ve taken part a lot of different builds in terms of the traditional, what you might call a video conference suite. But, it’s more than that.

It might be an e-board situation, where doctors from a remote location can call into specialists and work on solving a medical issue together.

And, it’s pretty phenomenal stuff.
