Financial Analyst

Summary

AVI Systems, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Financial Analyst to join our finance organization.

The Financial Analyst will support all locations of AVI Systems, Inc. by performing financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking. The Financial Analyst will analyze past, present, and future financial and operational data, prepare data for leadership reviews, perform data analysis and identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements. The Financial Analyst will work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and help enforce policies and procedures. This role will help drive efficiencies and process improvements with the creation of standard templates, automation, ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards (Power BI). Assist the CFO, Director of FP&A, and Senior Financial Analyst with data preparation for meetings and various ad hoc analyses.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Grow financial performance through analysis of financial results, forecasts, variance analysis, and trends.
• Create recommendations to be presented to management and executives.
• Develop financial models to support valuation, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Assisting in the yearly budget process, monthly business reviews, and other ad hoc analyses.
• Foster a creative and collaborative work culture by employing effective team skills.
• Maintain open communication within Accounting and Finance as well as across multiple departments.

Knowledge, Experience and Abilities Required:

• 1 - 3 + years of business finance/accounting or other relevant experience
• Solid understanding of financial modeling techniques
• Strong analytical and data-gathering skills
• Strong business acumen and understanding of the Income Statement
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA, MAcc, or CPA preferred
• Experience with a large-scale ERP system (QuickBooks, Q360 preferred)
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently
• Great attitude and a willingness to learn new skills
• Project Accounting experience is highly preferred
• Advanced Excel skills and Microsoft Office Suite tools
• Occasional travel to different locations as needed
